From the growler via Country Fresh Beechmont in a snifter. This solid brew
pours a ruby tinged murky brown with a moderate head of off white foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin clumping layer, and sports some nice light lacing. Nose
of dark raisin bread, faint clove, banana, and cherry with some Belgian candy sugar
notes. Flavors hit the mark with dark raisin bread, cherry, subtle cranberry, light clove,
banana, and faint coriander with touches of biscuit. Mouth feel is medium with light
soft carbonation and a medium dry finish.

Overall, VERY solid but could use a bit of that good Belgian yeast touch on the mouthfeel.

Cheers

Pint glass draught pour at 1860 Taproom. Quite cold to start.

L: Arrived a cloudy, opaque russet amber brown, with a thin off-whire head that faded to a cap and ring fairly quickly. Spotty lacing.

S: The nose is all sweet, sweet sticky bun, caramel crystal malt, cherries, raisins, and a jot of banana.

T: See the nose notes, almost exactly. This is a beautifully sweet and fruity dubbel, opening with the caramel-drizzled sticky bun and proceeding through the cherry, raisin, and banana esters.

F: Starts out medium bodied, and breaks down to a watery finish.

O: I dig this, but I am an unabashed fan of sweet, malty, yeasty beers. Would gladly repeat.

An overall excellent beer, my favorite at this brewery on my first visit.

Served from tap in a chalice. Dark, slightly cloudy reddish brown with very nice head and lacing. This beer smells great with sweet cherries and apples and some cinnamon. These follow to the taste, very pleasant and flavorful. Candied oranges, a bit herbal and earthy. I would definitely get it again. My sister-in-law enjoyed it as well.
