16 ounce can, no dating I noticed on this. Another brew thanks to Brtualtruth! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch or so tan head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted malt, coffee, coconut and dark chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma too but with the addition of some dark fruit, earthy and dark bready flavors too. Coconut seems pretty muted here in both the taste and aroma. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit creamy and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. Thought this was a good overall brew but would like to try this one fresher at the brewery sometime. With that being said I liked this one!

Poured aggressively from a pint can into a stein.

Appearance: Very dark brown with just a hint of ruby when held up to light; massive light tan head, requiring multiple pours to fill the stein and empty the can; that head lingered very long and left abundant lacing.

Nose: Dark roast and sweet coconut.

Mouthfeel: Medium; carbonation is just right.

Attack: Dark roast, coffee, a little coconut.

Finish: The hop and dark roast bitterness balance this beer superbly.

Overall: @Brutaltruth (see below) is right — this one is a winner. Smooth, drinkable. I suspect the well-hidden 8% ABV could sneak up on you. Nice job, Esoteric!

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This solid little porter pours a dark
blackish brown with a fantastic head of khaki foam that settles to a thick
ring, thick layer, and shows excellent lacing. Nose of dark chocolate, toasted
coconut, and dark roasted malts with coconut being the standout. Flavors
far surpass the nose with dark cocoa, coffee nuances, toasted coconut, dark
breaded malts, and dark roasted malts with subtle herbal hops. Mouth feel
is medium, light carbonation in an English sense which is very much appreciated,
and a roasted balanced finish.

Overall, a near perfect little porter.

Cheers
