An Oktoberfest, in June? Offered year-round? Doesn’t sound quite right, and the brew was a little disappointing. Pour was too clear, an amber brown with no head. You could detect some clove, spice and malt in the aroma, and the taste included these. A lightly carbonated, although thin beverage that lacked a hop kick. Perhaps this was made with St. Louis summers in mind, very quaffable in the heat, but lacking some real Oktoberfest style body.

 

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of roasted caramel malt and floral notes. Sweet and very malty with a light bitterness.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dark orange and pretty clear, not much head or lace.

Very malty and a pretty decent Octoberfest. Just a touch of hops accented the flavor, along with some light spice.

Body was light and not hard to drink. This wasn't an outstanding Octoberfest, but it was decent enough.

This beer wasn't outstanding, but I'm plenty supportive of this brewery and feel that they will develop over time and make more and more good and even great beers as they grow. Anytime someone's making their own beer in St Louis, I'm going to try it.

Pours your typical Oktoberfest deep orange with a decent off white head.

Not much aroma to speak of.

Not a whole lot of flavor. Some malts, a little hops but not much to speak of. Imagine Miller Lite Oktoberfest.

Thin, watered down mouthfeel. This one forced me to switch to mixed drinks for the remainder of my time at Morgan Street Pub.

Appearance: I thought it was a little dark for a Marzen. It was brown with a nice off white head and lace.

Smell: The smell was good. There were great tones of malt and just a little of hops. It was nice smelling beer.

Taste: It has great malt flavor and a mildly hopped aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and smooth with just the right amount of carbonation.

Drinkability: I am not going to lie I am not usually a fan of Morgan Street but this was a good overall beer I hope this is a sign of things to come. They may win me over yet.

Got to taste this one at the brewpub. One of their on-tap selections, served in a generic pint glass, HH $3.75.
Color was clear, brown, almost no head. A touch of malt in the aroma, but not much else. The taste was about the same, not alot of flavor, and limited hops, kind of one dimensional. A pretty average brew, but was expecting more of an 'Oktoberfest style'. Tasted alright, and was easy drinking, but didn't do a lot for the style. Not much more than a generic amber ale.

Decent looking oktfest but not very true to its roots. Didn't have the aroma or depth of taste that IMO tells of a seasonal. Could be considered a standard rotation beer if not for its "seasonal" designation. Drinks like an ale. Would be an excellent year-round beer in this regard

This Oktoberfest was a golden brown beer with very good white foam head that left nice lace down the glass. The aroma was rich and malty. The taste was nice and smooth with the flavors of malt and moderate hops dominating. The mouthfeel was velvety smooth. The drinkability was very good. I found this to be one of their better efforts (this and the oatmeal stout).

Once again I have been disappointed this year by an American rendition of an Oktoberfest beer. The deep orange color and light lace is promising. The brew is extremely light on flavor all around. Again reminds me of an watered down American lager. The malt is so dry it’s almost not present at all, there is a bit of bitter linger, but lacks character.
