Pleasant, bready, and sweet are all adjectives describing this classic German styled lager. There is a presence of medium to low spicy hop bitterness. The appearance of our Munich Helles is slightly darker in color than its commercial counterparts, but it boasts clarity and a creamy white head. Helles has a medium body with medium carbonation. This beer truly shows off Munich malt at its best.

Hazy, orange-tinged gold color. It has a white head. Sweet, slightly holy aroma. Very clean with a little yeast and malt in the taste. Medium-full in body. The finish is clean, and ther is a pleasant lager aftertaste.

On tap. Poured out a clear, golden-yellow color with a small, off-white head. It smelled of caramel and grasses. It tasted of sweet caramel malt with a slight bitterness. Pretty bland.

12 oz can, brought back from St. Louis. Black, generic Morgan Street can, with "When Helles Freezes Over, Munich Styled Helles Lager" sticker.
Clear, dark copper color, thin white head. Head quickly faded, minimal lacing.
The aroma has some malted grain, and some floral hops.
The taste was decent, lots of malty sweetness, then finished with a hint of spicy hops.
Light to medium in body, mouth feel was a little thin.
Very drinkable.

Served this Munich style Helles lager on tap, at the brewery, in a pint glass. It poured a clear copper color, produced a thin white head and featured poor head retention and produced only minimal lacing. The aroma overall was weak only a slight smell of pale malted grain, and some floral hops. The taste was light in body, mouthfeel was a little thin. Overall a thin.. easy to drink, decent summer beer when water just wouldnt do. Taste of pale malt and some floral hop at the finish. Below average overall for the style.
