I felt this was a little too sweet to be a Stout but nonetheless a great beer to drink. Black as coffee, yet sweet with a candy like taste. Thick to the taste but I like it that way. Compared to Barley's (a great brewpub in Columbus) Imperial Stout I'd have to say the Imperial was much better. I like my stouts "stout". This reminded me more of a Milk Stout, maybe a little heavy on the chocolate malt. Don't get me wrong though, this is a great beer!

This was my favorite at the brewpub during my visit. The stout was a dark black beer with a modest bit of tan foam. There was a mild aroma of dark malt. The taste was very good with the flavors of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt dominating, but also with a hint of licorice. The oatmeal gave a sweetness to the beer. The mouthfeel was rich and hearty, with the complex flavors giving way to a sweet finish. The drinkability was very good.
