On tap at the brewery into pint glass. Pours opaque black/brow color with a small tan head with good retention and spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big nutty dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, dark bread, herbal, pine, light smoke/vanilla. Taste of big nutty coffee, caramel, vanilla, dark chocolate, cocoa, dark bread crust, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, light smoke/char. Medium carb, herbal, char bitter finish. Medium carb and body. Balanced creamy bready malts, sticky hop, and chalky roast mouthfeel. Lingering hop drying with no acrid/astringent flavors. Great rich malt complexity with tons of coffee presence and adequate hopping for the style. Fantastic American Porter all around.
