Fire Door Coffee Red Ale honors both our brewery’s resilience and craft beer’s rich flavors, named after the fire door that saved the brewery from a devastating 2017 blaze. This red ale is conditioned on freshly roasted coffee from Perfect Blend Coffee Co, creating a rich, smooth flavor that symbolizes the pivotal moment and the determination behind Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse.

On tap at the brewery into pint glass. Pours hazy ruby red color with a small off white head and light spotty lacing on the glass. This was great Irish red ale with coffee. Aroma of nutty coffee and caramel. Taste of big caramel, toasted brown bread, nutty coffee, wood, peppercorn, pine, herbal, floral, grass, yeast earthiness. Medium pine, rind, woody bitter finish. Medium carb and body; balanced creamy bready malts and sticky resinous hop mouthfeel. Lingering resin dryness with no astringency. Very flavorful and drinkable, though just a bit too bitter for the style. Otherwise minimal complaints.
