Pours a lovely mahogany hue with a hazy clarity and a creamy, quarter inch, cream-colored head that disperses into a froth embedded with pinpricks and ringlets. Nose is as described - dry fruits, with hints of burnt sugar and vanilla as well as a hit of ethanol. Taste follows nose with that addition of some vinous notes and remnants of the spent barrel. Mouthfeel is light-medium with just the right amount of carbonation to cut the sweetness. Overall, really decision. The barrel is overwhelming and adds a nice nuance; however, a little more time in the barrel would be my preference (although not that much more).
