12 Bones Brewing

 

 

Visited here for lunch today with Da Boss on 8-29-21.

Vibe was cool. The building was maybe an old manufacturing facility and sizeable. Roughly half the space was devoted to the brewery side that had a stand up bar and nice visibility to the listing of beers available. The restaurant side was on the other half where one can order and pickup delicious barbecue. 4.25

Quality of the beers were good as the boss enjoyed the Pillow Talk Is Dead Pale and i like the NEIPA collaboration with Commonhouse Aleworks. 3.75

Service was friendly behind the bar as we were offered tasters before we made our selection. They orientated how the place operated in terms of ordering food, etc. 4.0

Selection was good as there were 16 beverages to choose from including 3 lagers, 2 hefe's, a seltzer and a sour, a brown, an ESB, saison, pale, and 5 IPAs. Maybe stouts are cooler weather brews. 4.0

Food was very good as i had the hogzilla which was a totally ridiculous sandwich packed with 4 different meats weighing in at about a pound. Definitely get your value for $10.00. The sides were very good as well. Da Boss had a smoked chicken sandwich and sides which she liked. 4.5

Overall got out of there for $46 for 2 beers and some very good chow! Rating was 4.08 in 2021.

Food was very mediocre today. Split the 12 bones ribs - it was like they were leftover from yesterday, very dry, and not warmed thru. Collard Greens were not as good as before. The Jalapeno Grits stood out, very good. Overall - 2.5
Overall, we like Bears Smokehouse and Sweeten Creek Brewing much better food wise, beers are comparable.
Overall 2025 rating is 3.71.

The food is amazing, let's get that right away. Here they have a lot of their own brewed beer, some of it was good, others were meh. The service is kind, attentive, quick and chill. One visit we had a special situation that had some needs and they were so understanding and accommodating of our group. Bigger and more expansive space than the original. There was a line outside the door before it opened every time we have been, let that be a sign for you
