Collaboration with Two Villains Brewing
Not one, but two, crafty villains
Snuck in the throne room while the queen was chillin’
As she lay asleep in her repose,
Past guards and dogs, through cracked windows
They scattered ‘round golden naked oats,
Across her throne and royal coats.
And before they crept back to the night,
They cackled about the Queen’s new plight.
Adding Citra, Simcoe and Motueka hops,
They then stole away on silent rooftops.

Traded for this last week as I love nearly everything that I've had from Tin Barn. This was on the level as it was an immensely enjoyable beer with a nice flavor profile and a wonder body that hid it's alcohol well. Props to being introduced to Two Villains here too as I had no idea that they were in my neck of the woods!
This had a nice, muted golden hue to it that was subtly radiant and topped off with a ton of head that took it's time to settle down. The lacing was extensive, but scattered without any hints of rings as it was quite wavy and spotted from the top to the bottom of my pint glass. Tons of oats, melon, and mango in the heavy and dank nose as the taste was a bit more varied. Some hop dankness, white chocolate, weed, deep citrus pith, and star fruit came through on the palate as this was beautifully deep and easy to savor once this fully warmed up. Full of rind and earthiness, I doubt that a tap version of this would have been much better as this didn't stay in my pint glass for very long!
Sure, this was strong but with a nice body and stickiness from the oats, the booze took a back seat to everything else that was going on here as the hops melded wonderfully together. Dated 10/22 on the bottom of the can, I loved this beer and it's raw, crafted nature as it was worthy of it's poem on Instagram. Oats work well outside of Cream Ales or Milkshake IPA's and this was a great example of why that's the case. Get your hands on this while you can if you're in these parts!
