Traded for this recently with a friend as he makes runs up to Tin Barn quite often and they've quickly become one of my favorite breweries in this neck of the woods. Once again, this proved why that's the case as it was a quality brew in every aspect that was easy to quaff, full of body and flavor, and readily accessible. Throw in a lovely label and who could ask for anything more?
Like any good New England IPA, this was a muted deeply cloudy and muted gold with a *ton* of lovely, full head on top of that as it took forever and a day to settle down. It was so pretty to admire that I didn't even notice although the lacing left behind was scattered, splotchy, and sparse along the lower half of my pint glass. Aside from that, this was lovely in every way as the aroma contained blueberry, gooseberry, deep citrus and tropical fruits, and subtle dank hops. The taste absolutely exploded with a ton of deep citrus juice and slickness, dark berries, hints of pine and swamp water, and a nice amount of Simcoe and Galaxy that drew me in and never let go. Plenty sticky and balanced, the carbonation was spot-on as it kept this light as a hint of candied peach and nectarine emerged in the mouthfeel once the last sip went down.
Indeed, even the booze was spot-on as I never tasted it and felt a hint of warming once I finished this off. Dated 12/10 with "FIZZIN VISION" written above it, this was a fabulous beer that would easily win anyone over to Tin Barn. Lots to love here as this was among the best that I've been able to get my hands on from them!
