We took our dark rich Imperial Stout and conditioned it on copious amounts of coconut and chocolate and soaked huge amounts of almonds to craft a perfect Almond Joy.

I was never a fan of Mounds or Almond Joy when I was growing up but I found this beer to be fun and on par with the quality brews that Tin Barn’s been cranking out! Indeed, this was quite strong but the coconut nature was just soft enough to not overwhelm everything else that was going on, as this beer packed quite a muted punch from the get-go...
Of course, this had a dark brown hue to it that was plenty cloudy and moderately thick. A fair amount of bubbly head topped it off as the mocha offset the liquid nicely. However, it was short-lasting as it retreated like sea foam with just a few big bubbles lingering at the surface after it settled down as the lacing left behind was minimal. Lots of sticky coconut and milk chocolate were in the nose as the taste contained some vanilla, cocoa powder, and almonds. Rich like dark chocolate and toasted from the coconut, this was plenty sticky on the palate and even more so in the aftertaste as indeed, this felt like a candy bar in a can.
The carbonation was light and I didn't detect any overt hops in this as the alcohol was also quite recessed although I felt it kick in during my last sips. Dated 1/28 with "COCOA-GO NUTS" written above it, this was a fun brew that was moderately sweet, plenty full, and potent underneath the surface. While not the best that I've had from Tin Barn, this was an enjoyable offering that didn't stay in my glass for very long. Would love to give the other beer in this release a go!
