Excellent head production, retention, and lacing. Opaque but not exactly murky; lemon yellow color.
Aroma is a balance between bright juicy hop notes and greener, sharper herbal hop notes. Lemon, tangerine, oregano, pepper, guava, earth.
Flavor doesn't reinvent the wheel in terms of NE IIPAs, but it's quite good, if a bit "dirty" from the very green and pungent hop expression. Low bitterness and astringency. Tasting notes of lemon, papaya, pineapple, melon, and orange.

Reviewed the day after can release. Poured into a snulip glass. It pours a turbid, dirty orange-lemon color with a large, fluffy, milky cap and thick, long-lasting lacing. A bright, fruity smell featuring lemon, grapefruit, lime, pineapple, tangerine, and sweet floral hops. However, the taste opens with more hoppy dryness with the fruit just beneath the surface. There are notes of dry white wine grape and tart lemon and grapefruit balancing the pineapple and tangerine. The influence of the Nelson hops is strong in the initial taste. The Riwaka and Citra hops contribute grapefruit and lemon, along with melon and other sweet tropical fruits. There is mild, clean bitterness throughout. This ale is moderate in mouth feel and the carbonation is pleasant. The 8.2% ABV is sneaky. It's not a chugger. Overall, I like the way Tin Barn used the Nelson Sauvin hops. While their influence is unmistakable they compliment the tropical notes well. This is a fine New England DIPA.
