L-Burgandy color....light head...looks good in the glass
S-Barrel aging is evident...vanilla, whiskey, oak, toffee...not much of Belgian Ale impressions though
T-Abundant notes or oak, vanilla, and whiskey . That combines with a more vinous berry like flavor. It works. Nice combo of flavors.
F-High side of medium bodied...hits the mark....doesn't seem sharp or alcoholic at all.
O-Guess I was hoping for more of a true Belgian Strong Ale impression but some of that is here. I only get a mild touch of maple syrup with this which to me is a good thing. It is sweetish though. All in all this is a quality beer. I can't remember what I paid for it but I wouldn't mortgage the house for it or anything but I think it is recommendable.
