Ol’Wilhelmus is reddish copper (SRM 15-17) in a Pretentious Glass Co. American Lager Pilzner glass. A slight beige head never exceeds 1/4”, while occasional large bobbles burst forth and race towards freedom above.

Toasted white bread is the most obvious aroma, followed by light caramel sweetness. This is a simple beer, without much to discover.

The flavor has a vegetal quality and bland malt. The initial sweetness quickly yields to bitterness. The finish is long with dry wheat bread.

A medium body and scratchy nylon texture. Alcohol is mild, yet more than expected.

This beer is the proverbial swing and a miss, for me. Then again… my low scores may be the result of personal bias regarding the style.

It is definitely drinkable, and yet it is not to my liking. Fortunately, Fall Street has MANY other Lagers that I do enjoy.
