I have not had many of this style, so this is largely based on the description and my uninformed impression. This was from a 16 oz can, bought at the brewery. I marked it as seasonal, but they're new, who knows if they'll make it again?
Appearance: A little hazy, some sediment in can. Copper. One-finger head slowly shrinks.
Smell: Malt, some fruit, yeast character that I think would be called "earthy," with a little spiciness.
Taste: Sweet, some fruitiness, medium-kilned malt without being caramelly. Earthy yeast character blends beautifully with the kilned malt. That malt and yeast earthiness linger in the aftertaste. I don't notice a lot of hops, but a moderate amount of less assertive hops may be part of the earthy character.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, not highly carbonated but enough that the tingle may help balance the beer.
Overall: For a strong sweet beer without sourness or much hop bitterness it's very well balanced. I would expect it to be cloying after a while, but that's not at all the case. Very enjoyable, pleasant with food.
