Salted pilsner with tangerine. Juicy enough to suck bone dry.

Received from @jdell15 in a BIF. No evident canning date. Poured into a Pilsener glass. It pours a hazy, almost opaque bright tangerine color with a thin, milk-white head and minimal lacing. At first the smell reminds me of a standard Pilsner with Pilsen malt and Tettnanger or Hallertauer hops. However, as it warms in the glass I notice faint tangerine. The tangerine is quite evident, however, in the taste. Its sweetness is balanced by the salty finish. The Pilsner malt and hops are also present in the flavor but they play a supporting role to the citrus. This beer is lite, crisp, and clean and I was surprised that the ABV is 6% - I would have expected it to be lower. Overall, Old Money Vampire is a unique Pilsner and I credit East Sixth Brewing of imagination in brewing it.

OK head production; poor retention. Body is incredibly hazy, almost completely opaque, and a dark orange color. No lacing. Nothing about this beer looks remotely like a pilsner.

Tangerine is soft on the nose. Hops seem to be a blend of noble neutrality and slight juiciness, although it's tough to tell what comes from the hops, and what comes from the tangerine. Very little hint of salt, although it is present. Pilsner malt base is very subdued, but also present. Overall, it's a fairly crisp, balanced aroma, not really presenting much, but that's not a detriment.

This beer really comes to life on the palate, and somehow, is exactly as advertised. Tangerine is present, in particular up front, but by the middle, pilsner malt balanced by noble hops and a low-moderate bitterness takes over. Salty kiss on the finish, the tangerine long faded, and a really pleasant pilsner body. Honey on the back third along with light lemon and cracker.

Crisp and lively; a touch slick, but not stylistically atypical.

The beer pours a straw yellow with slight orange tint. There is no head and no lacing.

The smell is bready, slightly floral, with citrus underneath.

The taste is obviously bready, biscuit pilsner with a nice tangerine finish. The salt comes through subtly at the beginning then fades.

The mouthfeel is a bit thick and sticky with low carbonation - possibly under carb'd.

Overall, this is tasty. The flavors blend well. Could use a touch more carbonation.
