My last beer an hour ago was my first bottle of WestV-12, and now, this... Jeez, that's some act to follow...
Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Black, 1Cm deep tan head. Pours like a regular beer vs a big/thick syrupy job; there is hope here.
S- Lactose, sweet. Almond? nougat.
T- Big cocoa, chocolate milk. A minor liquor note passes over the palate like a satellite blinking a slow arc across the night sky.
F- Rich, major cocoa, not yet veering to sweet at all (I started this well chilled).
O- Certainly very chocolatey. Nice for slow sipping. It is rich so suggest you start this off well chilled as you can't hurry it.
Review2001/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! ==> Pastry stout, contains doughnut and vanilla flavour.... OhMG.... No, not for me... a wall of sugar hides any apparent quality.
