Copenhagen 30/7 2022. 33 cl can from Mikkeller web-shop. Black can with a drawing of a grumpy slime monster in yellow splashing in blue fluid. As Funky Fluid Umibōzu 2022.

Pours opaque dark brown with a big, light beige head. stable. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is fairly intense and gets stronger as the beer warms up. Strong sweet, malty and roasted scent. Candy store and coffee shop. Dark roasted malts, chocolate, toffee, syrup and brown sugar. Dark alcohol looming in the background.

Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, a bit sticky, fat, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is intense with a heavy sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a light touch of coffee bitterness. Lingering. Finish is semi-dry and laced in sugar.

Quite heavy on the syrup but with a bit of balance from the coffee.

330 ml can, as Funky Fluid Umibōzu 2022, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 11%. Nearly black (dark ruby red) colour, large beige head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee and maple syrup. Very sweet flavour, loads of maple syrup nearly overpowers the coffee and roast malts. Low bitterness. Smooth to drink.
