Copenhagen 25/9 2022. 50 cl bottle from Mikkeller web-shop. Label in several shades of brown with three cubes of chocolate in the center. They are not trying to hide their indulgence for chocolate in any way.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin patches of foam floating about. No lacing.
Aroma is intense and lives up to the name of the beer by consisting of chocolate and alcohol in equal measures. Toffee and brown sugar. Milk chocolate in abundance. Whiff of bitter dark chocolate mingling with dark alcohol.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, creamy, soft, fat and lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a notable bitter undertone. Light boozy burn. Finish is surprisingly dry.
A wholesome sweet - but not too sweet - Polish boozer with a dessert tang.
