From the 12 oz bottle with the green wax cap....thought I reviewed this from the growler
but perhaps....hmmm....ummmm....yeah. This solid barley wine pours a nice medium burnt
auburn with a nice head of khaki foam that settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some
nice lacing. Nose of spicy hops, herbal hops, rich caramel, toffee, light date, and brown sugar
notes. Flavors lightly exceed the nose with brown sugars, toffee, raisin bread, dates, subtle
tobacco, light cherry, herbal and zesty hop notes, and subtle pine. Mouth feel is medium,
medium light carbonation, smooth, subtly creamy, and finishing moderately sweet and
nicely balanced.

Overall, exceptional quality from a great little brewery doing it right in Cincy!

Cheers

12 ounce green wax capped bottle, no dating I noticed on the bottle or label. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this! Served in a snifter, the beer pours a somewhat clear reddish/copper color with not quite an inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark fruit, toffee, brown sugar and some herbalness. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some caramel, pine and bready flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and a bit syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall barleywine, worth trying for sure if you get the chance!
