This beer pours black and is topped with an inch of tan, highly effervescent head that leaves no trace.
Fantastic caramel and vanilla notes from the bourbon barrel-aging. Milk chocolate. The currants add a nice berry accent.
Dark chocolate and anise. The blackcurrant purée adds a complimentary berry flavor that is perfect. Just enough to be noticed but not be a focal point. I get a little caramel and vanilla with an oaky finish.
Fuller bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
Nice beer.
