Serving: On tap at Steins Beer Garden (Mountain View, CA) served in a half liter dimpled stein.
Appearance: Clear, bright, deep golden yellow with an initial froth of white head and lingering rings of lace.
Smell: Bright, lightly toasted bread and malt nose with light herbal hops.
Taste: Satisfying malty body with notes of toasted bread, biscuits, and slowly emerging caramel sweetness. A crisp, spicy bitter finish and hints of alcoholic heat close out.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: Malty but refreshing fest beer that paired nicely with pork schnitzel and sauerkraut.
