“Mayday” is made in respect of the rescuers who rush out when the people of the sea are in distress. The lifeboat on the label, Emilie Robin, is stationed in Hvide Sande and the sister ship Martha Lerche in Thyborøn.
Mayday is infused with sea buckthorn, picked in the dunes of the North Sea, and American Citra Hops.

Copenhagen 1/11 2020. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østefælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Drawing of a rescue ship struggling through the waves on the label.
Pours murky amber with small white head. Settles as thin layer of foam just managing to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty odor mingling with tart fruitiness. Sweet, pale malts. Cardboard and grains. Spicy bitter odor from the buckthorn.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger sour bitterness. Aftertaste is Sweet with a light tart undertone. Finish is semi-dry.
A bit strange flavoring where it could seem like they added sugar to neutralize the bitter, sour buckthorn. Ending up with adding a tad too much.
