12 ounce bottle into willi becher glass, bottled on 3/31/2026. Pours clear nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 2-3 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, nuttiness, dark bread/crust, toast; light herbal, grass, dark fruit, molasses, diacetyl, and yeast earthiness. A bit too yeasty, but nice English style nose. Taste follows with dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, nuttiness, dark bread/crust, toast; light herbal, grass, wood, peppercorn, pine, dark fruit, molasses, diacetyl, and yeast earthiness. Light-medium herbal, spicy, roasted bitterness, and light yeast tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; balanced creamy/bready malt, sticky hop, and chalky roast mouthfeel. Lingering hop/roasted dryness, with no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors. Irish feeling yeast as I have seen in Dry Stouts before, on the upper limit of fruitiness and diacetyl for the style, but a very good easy drinking beer.

It's Aldi's Guinness knock off, weaker head and flavor, but it's still decent.

This is actually pretty damn good for a cheap ass beer I got at Aldi"s
Honestly if not for low alcohol I would rate it much higher. Under 5% you cannot call yourself a stout no matter how good you look, taste and feel
That said I will def buy it again

Great taste for non Guinness brand stout. Aroma and taste great for the price. Head a little thin but tasty. Definite good value and drinkable from Aldi’s

Entirely drinkable, if you want a fizzier stout that tastes a bit like Guiness without the nitrogen smoothness. Save for that, it does cost almost as much as Guiness in my area and would probably opt for that next time.
But not always. This is an enjoyable entry from Aldi's and kind of one of my favorites from them. You don't feel like your drinking a cheap beer, and you're not; but still...it reminds me of craft brew stout you'd get from a brewery. Not the nitro, just the regular kind.

12 ounce bottle, best by 09/09/25 stamped on the bottle. Kinda hard to read until after the beer is poured out of the bottle then it's easy to read with the black ink when the bottle is held up to a light. Served in a chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch or so tan head that stuck around for a little while. There's also a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like roasted malt, dark chocolate and some coffee. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also a bit of nuttiness noticeable in the flavor too. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit smooth and creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew overall, for the price I really can't complain at $7.99 a six pack, Aldi USA purchase. Worth a try if you come across some!

After pouring it, the head disappears almost immediately, and the color is medium brown (not very dark).
No real noticable aromas that I can speak highly of.
The taste of this beer is more like a lager than a stout, it is extremely weak, and for a stout I was expecting more creamyness.
No thickness whatsoever, so just terrible for a stout.
Overall I give a 3, since it's probably better than a Budwiser.

Pours dark. Thin foam. Chocolate aroma. Light roasted malt body. Dry hop finish. Not bad. Could use a little more flavor. Easy drinking. Aldi find.

Distinct from Guinness, mostly for the worse, but still fairly refreshing. Has a peanut butter and chocolate note that's quite forward and fairly nice. Not particularly off putting. At $8 for a 6 pack It costs almost as much as Guinness, so what's the point? If this was a few bucks cheaper I'd probably buy it all the time.
