I was totally surprised how good this beer tasted. I picked it up at Aldi for 8 bucks. At first taste I thought that this beer is very much like Sam Adams, but then, the more I tasted, the more I thought it is better. Just enough bitterness to make it interesting with a crisp finish.

Aldager has a thick, creamy, off-white head and a clear, bubbly amber appearance, with some lacing. The aroma is of faint honey grains. The flavor is of strong bitterness, caramel, and brown bread crust. Aldager has a medium body and a crisp finish.

Mostly clear, dark gold, light amber. Medium white head. Not a lot of retention.
Smell is light caramel, bread crusts, grass.
Taste surprisingly bitter, I’d guess the IBU’s to be in the upper 20’s. The hops are herbal, German style. There’s a little caramel malt coming through but it’s not sweet. Reminds me a little of Sam Adams, but maybe better actually. Finishes medium dry, most excellent, I hope they keep it in stock.

A nice tasting beer I can drink each night with my dinner. No one particular style takes over. Just a great beer for the money.

Clear light amber color with minimal white head but some nice lacing while it lasts.
The aroma is fresh biscuits or crackers with a hint of caramel and fresh cut grass or hay.
The taste is primarily crackers with a bit of caramel or molasses, Fairly crisp and moderately dry. The finish is dry with a hint of balancing herbal hops.
The body is light, moderate carbonation, smoothly drinkable.
Altogether, nothing to get excited about, but nothing to object to either. A good refreshing drinkable and serviceable brew for the money, should wash down some backyard BBQ very nicely.

Picked up from Aldi. Certainly not a top shelf Amber Lager but worth every discounted penny. Look was more golden than amber and taste was a light amber. Nothing offensive and this would go great at a cook out to mix things up in a cooler. Enjoyable and I would recommend it.

This just appeared at Aldi in Edmond, OK this week. Best By date is 11/16/22. 12 oz Longneck brown glass bottle.
Appearance:
Light amber/dark gold, Clear with moderate heading and lacing.
Aroma:
Bready, biscuity malts with a slight touch of caramel. Very slight aroma of grassy/earthy hops.
Flavor:
Crisp and semi-dry: mostly crackery, grainy flavors with a touch of brown sugar. Hop character is moderate, nondescript and does its job balancing sweetness well. It tastes like what I would imagine a Foster's Lager would taste if it had less adjuncts.
Mouthfeel:
Very light mouthfeel for the category, nominal CO2, no burn or roughness/astringency.
Overall:
I would say this is a poor man's Abita Amber or a paler version of Shiner Bock. The slight acrid bite reminds me of US-made Foster's Lager. It's clean and easy to quaff. Nothing special, but gets the job done.
Also what is up with the name? Aldager= Aldi Lager? Where'd they get that name?
