Appearance: Pours a medium amber-red with a large finely-beaded cream-colored head with very good retention. Beneath the surface, myriad streams of minute bubbles float lazily to the surface. The lacing is quite impressive, coating the glass in a finely-beaded, unbroken sheet.
Aroma: Prominent notes of rich dark bread, dark fruit, caramel, apple rind and alcohol. This last is not as spicy as I would expect for the style.
Taste: on tasting, there is a wave of caramel and dark bread, soon followed by restrained alcohol and some earthy hops. As the taste progresses, there is a little restrained spiciness from the alcohol and some warmth, as well as a pleasant flavor of roasted nuts and toasted malt. Late in the taste, there is a little surge of earthy bitterness that plays well against the dark malt, offering a gracious close to the taste.
Mouth feel: Very full and soft, with quite delicate carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: Pleasant and drinkable, but it would have benefited from a higher ABV. It seems a little like Doppelbock-light. Nonetheless, it is quite good, but if one expects the gravity of Celebrator or Optimator, there is mild disappointment. Nonetheless, well worth a try.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip.

Doppelbock has a thick, cream-colored head, with a translucent, brown appearance, and minimal lacing. The aroma is of cream, toffee, and brown bread crust. The flavor is similar, with some sweetness and a touch of hop bitterness. One will notice some nutty flavor. Doppelbock has a medium body and a crisp finish.

From the can from the Aldi Beer Advent Calendar 2022, it pours a lovely clear light brown with rose highlights with a modest light brown head that soon reduces to a thin layer and leaves some lacing. Scent is roasted malts with caramel. Taste follows nose - easy to drink.
Not a bad brew, but I would describe it as something OTHER than a Double Bock due to it's modest strength.

Poured from a can. Light brown in color with a small head. Smells of malt, roasted grain and a slight nuttiness. Flavor follows the smell, with a smooth finish. Good
