Appearance: Pours a lovely, hazy golden orange color, with a coarse, billowing white head, with fine retention. Clouds of fat bubbles drift lazily to the surface. Elegant, Belgian-like lacing adorns the glass wall.

Aroma: Citric hops, particularly lemon, a well as milder pine hop notes dominate the aroma. There is also a subdued white bread malt note.

Taste: On tasting, there is a notable, but restrained surge of pine hops, more pronounced than in the aroma. As the taste progresses, an undercurrent of semi-sweet caramel presents, although it is overshadowed by the strong hop presence. Toward the end of the taste, there is a little burst of sweetness from the caramel, although the hops dominate well past the end of the taste, with a lingering pine tar and medicinal note.

Mouth feel: Smooth and very soft, quite pleasant.

Drinkability/notes: A very decent and drinkable example of the style, if not outstanding, it is certainly quite good.

Presentation: Packaged in standard twelve ounce aluminum can, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip.

Pale Ale has a very thick, off-white head and a bubbly, deep orange appearance with sediment and heavy lacing. The aroma is of sharp hop oils and white bread crust. The flavor is of caramel, white bread crust, some fruit, and elevated bitterness. Pale Ale has a medium body and a dry finish.

Poured from a can. Caramel in color with a large foamy head and lacing. Smells of caramel, pine and citrus. Flavors follow the smell, flavors come together well. Solid pale ale.

From the can in the 2022 and 2023 Aldi Beer Advent Calendars, it pours a slightly hazy amber color with a modest, though long lasting, white to just off-white head. The nose gets a bit of malt with some caramel/roasty notes. The mouth gets the same, pleasantly malt flavor with some caramel notes with a light bitterness.
