Pours slightly murky, orange in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is bready malt and earthy hops. Medium light body, moderate carbonation, slightly bitter. Not as impressive as other Plank beers. Wanted to like this more but this is average.

Ringing in the fall festivals with a maltier tone, the Plank Brewery looks at tradition for inspiration in creating a smooth, drinkable but characterful lager that's enough to que the cooler weather.
Pale copper and with a golden lightness, their Festbier builds a loose and frothy crown that carries a subtle bread crust, nutty and honey-like lightness across the nose. A light floral spice rises as the first sip reveals a malt sweetness of graham cracker and mild granola.
As the beer rolls along the middle palate, the sweetness drifts and the dryness left behind highlights the toastier and nuttier taste. The floral nature of hops turn spicy with suggestions of parsley, lemongrass and mint in an herbal bitterness redolent with peppery tea and a hint of tobacco.
Medium bodied, crisp and refreshing, the malty lager shows a surprising degree of lightness and palatability with a slight sense of grain derived astringency and elevated carbonation. The beer finishes malty-dry with a medium-short linger of tobacco and mint.
