Had on draft 11/15/22 @ the Hopleaf.

Dark brown appearance.

Nice tan head; frothy lace.

Brown sugar, strawberry & faint oak notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Caramel & mild strawberry flavors up front; mild acorn bite on the finish.

A delightful, unique dunkel.

Not bad honestly. I was expecting a little less pleasurable drink based on a couple others I’ve had from them.

Pretty dark. Like a dark lager but slighrly more brown than black. Darker than a brown ale.

Smells pretty malty. Not sweet like some can be. Little scent of hop to it. Almost like a dried fig essence.

That foggy figgy is on the palet too. Its got some fruitiness to it. Probably from the malt.

Feels the best. Perfect middle-heavy body. Big bubble too. Almost pils level.

Gonna buy more for sure. Win.

Can
L-tawny brown translucent. 1f tan head rapidly fades
S-amidst the predominant malt tones are some sharp notes that suggest almost vinegar
T-sweet unified bready flavor that leaves no unpleasant aftertaste. Hints of tobacco occasionally
F-medium bodied, crisp
O-a solid beer, a good example of the style that looks great out of the can. While its very subtle distinguishing characteristics are a bit uneven, the beer is still quite enjoyable overall

This one pours a dark-ish brown color, with a small white head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like toasted malt, bitter chocolate, toffee, breadiness, and some floral hop character.

This has a nice bready sweetness with a bitter toasty and slightly floral finish. It’s richly malty in all the best ways you want a dunkel to be malty.

This is medium bodied, creamy, and super drinkable.

This is pretty much exactly what I expect a dunkel to taste like.

Beautiful dark mahogany, crystal crystal clear; dense light brown head, creamy layer of froth remains, minimal lacing.

Nice rich malty nose, slighty darkened fresh bread, slightest hint of noble hops. The maltiness is very aromatic in this beer.

Taste shows the same rich malty depth; again rich and bready. Hops show in the form of a nice little bit of spice.

Light body but full of feel; pleasantly dry finish with a low but noticeable bitterness.

This is a very enjoyable beer to drink. It has a nice malty depth that in no way inhibits how incredibly drinkable this beer is. The touch of hop was a pleasant surprise that I enjoyed as well.
