Who would have thought that one the best Tripel's that I have had would be from a Hawaiian brewery? I picked up three crowlers (buy 2, get 1 free). Poured into a pint glass. Nice two finger head with a slightly darker yellow than most Tripel's that I have drank in the past. I briefly spoke with one of the brewers as he overheard me get excited about seeing a Tripel on the menu. He described the beer with a smoky quality. Really, in a triple? Well, he was right. Hard to describe (not like traditional smoky beers), it did have a hint of smoke. Not as dry as many Tripel's that I have had. Amazing. Must try.
