Big Ivan is a Russian Imperial Stout – an intensely flavored strong dark stout beer. We designed our brewhouse to brew THIS beer! Over 700 pounds of grain in this monster – and only the strongest first runnings from the grain was used in the brew. Notice the dark chocolate, toffee, and roasty flavors.

On tap at the brewery.
Pitch black pour, nothing shines through. Tan head.
Slight roasted malt aroma with caramel notes.
Lots of flavors here. Nice licorice flavor. Some dark chocolate. Hint of coffee. Some caramel.
Decent body, maybe slightly light, but not too far off what it should be.
Tasty on a cold day.

From a crowler:
L-Dark brownish black...no head
S-Chocolate and some roast, hints of coffee
T-Equal measures of dark chocolate and coffee grounds...
F-Light side of full bodied...low carbonation
O-Solid effort at this style. I'd buy it again.
