Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a light to medium golden amber, fairly fizzy pour with a three finger white head that dissipates to a thick, persistent cap. Aroma of grainy malt, coriander, light dried stone fruit and orange. Flavor is saison yeast, grainy malt, coriander, a little funk and some well dried light stone fruit. Spicy finish. Medium bodied with sharp carbonation and light to moderate creaminess. A idiosyncratic take on the tripel style with a yeast and malt that lean much more to a saison profile, but with some classic tripel fruit notes in the background, as well as sturdy Belgian spicing, particularly coriander. I was somewhat taken aback at first, but quickly grew to like this melding of saison and tripel. Not authentic to the Belgian style, but quite enjoyable. I'll get this again.

Poured from 750mL bottle into my BeerAdvocate teku.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and three fingers of pillowy ivory foam atop. Quite good!

Smell: lightly sweet and plenty malty with a definite hint of funk. This is fermented with a saison yeast, so there's an earthy, funky, spiciness here, that is almost but not quite Brett-like in quality. Not bad, although not what I usually think of in a "tripel".

Taste: party spicy saison, party sweet, fruity, boozy tripel. I think it's an interesting combination, although I'm not sure it works as a great example of either style (though overall it's not a bad beer). Kind of an odd duck!

Mouthfeel: medium body with an absolutely crazy-town carbonation and a huge creaminess. Just a little more body and this thing would be off the charts!

Overall: I find this beer growing on me. It doesn't really fit the definition of a tripel, but it's an interesting and compelling (though perhaps a bit weird) brew.

Served in 12oz tulip. Poured a cloudy yellow color with over an inch of white head that had very good retention and light lacing.

The aroma and flavors were what is expected from the style; solid grain, some light floral hops and big, bold yeast spice and fruit aspects.

The body was full, notably fuller than is usual for the style, smooth, well-rounded, and had a medium-dry finish.

Drinkability was very good, one could easily drain a couple of these.

Overall, a pretty nice take on the style. Certainly worth a shot if you see it.
