Brauerei Otto Hübner “Hübner Bräu Jubiläumsbier”
,5L brown glass bottle “Mindestens haltbar bis: Tag 12 Monat 1”
4,50€ @ Johnny’s Off License, Campo de’ Fiori, Roma, IT
Look: A lightly hazy (it’s unfiltered) chestnut brown body is capped by a finger’s width of light tan foam. The head retention and lacing are both very good.
Smell: Distinctly malty and grainy with some soft caramel and an edge of chocolate.
Taste: The flavor is fuller than the aroma suggests but doesn’t stray too far. In addition to the maltiness there’s a firm bitterness and some mild herbal and spicy hop notes that balance it. The finish is sweetish but quickly drying with a pleasant drip of residual malt and some bitterness lingering.
Feel: Medium bodied and a bit dextrinous with a soft, fine-bubbled carbonation that leaves it smooth.
Overall: For a beer of 5% ABV it tastes and feels bigger. Whether that’s a good thing or not I don’t know but I enjoyed it as it is.

From the "brewed for the 200th anniversary of the family owned brewery, it pours a hazy amber color with a really nice off-white head that slowly reduces as you enjoy the brew. The nose gets a nice dose of malt with some notes of roasted malts and caramle. The mouth gets a pleasant malty brew with notes of roasted malts and a hint of caramel. Enjoyable!
