Playing with new hop and malt combinations to keep this IPA fresh and interesting, Batch # 3 of S.O.S. blends Galaxy and Citra hops that sing with notes of dried mango, fresh papaya, and grapefruit juice.

Original S.O.S. was a hazy pale ale at 5.5%. I really love Tailgunner - with that I picked up this hazy despite my own trepidation for the style
Pours a milky golden yellow with two + fingers of creamy white head with some irregular lacing.
Nose is up front pithy - grapefruit, citrus, maybe a bit of lime but also with tropical notes - guava, mango - a touch floral as well (though honestly sitting outside a little close to the lilac bushes!).
Taste started ok with pithy citrus - a lot of grapefruit and grapefruit peel - less evident tropical notes - and as consumed a building pithy sharp bitterness and escalating to hop burn that becomes overpowering.
Creamy medium mouthfeel with decent carbonation but honestly the hop burn bitterness is too much for me - this lingered for a solid 45 minutes after finished.
Think this is well made but the style is hit and miss for my palate, as others comment on juiciness and sweetness, but I simply don't get - not sure I should rate as may well be personal preference, and honest feeling to this would be lower than I have given.
