12 oz can, canned on 2/1/21, into Crooked Stave glass.
A thin brown pour forms a much thicker and bolder medium dark brown with a lasting khaki head of 2 fingers. Lots of lacing. Great.
Aroma from the can is earthy in a way only shellfish could be; with some cola, nutty brown malt, and tootsie roll. From the glass it's similar but with more earthiness and very slight salinity.
Flavor is initially thin and empty but then brings forth some dry grass, root beer, oyster, semi-sweet chocolate, and slight salt. It's not particularly great but it's unique which keeps it from tanking.
Feel is thin bodied, definitely a session stout, maybe more like a hefty porter, with some creaminess and some prickly carbonation.
Overall, it's okay but nothing fantastic. Glad I only got a few of them. Would probably not revisit.
Price paid : $1.99 / can
