This is the first beer brewed at this brewery and offered on tap. Poured from tap while at the brewery.
Interesting darkish golden color and some lacing on glass after serving it to our table. Subtle fruity aroma signaling good things to come. Nice smooth mouthfeel with mild bitterness coming through while drinking it down, followed by a crisp finish. Tastes of tea leaves and grape skins definitely come through but are subtle and only add to the experience of drinking this beer- often this is not the case as any 'specialty' ingredients that are added to beers (especially from new breweries) are overdone and take away from enjoying the beer as a whole. Overall, this is a simple, straight forward 'PA bitter' that respects what an english bitter should be and does not get in its own way. I am so excited that this brewery started with a classic beer for their first brewed/ tapped beer, not chasing after the next American version of an IPA, and approached the beer with restraint and expertise. Well done and i can't wait to try future offerings.
