Red Hot Chili Reapers

Pours a cloudy, deep, dark amber coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smells of biscuity, grainy malt and berry/citrus hops, with notes of red currants and tangerine, as well as just a hint of chilis coming through. Taste is a great balance of biscuity, grainy malt, hoppy red berry and citrus notes of red currants, strawberry and tangerine and a rather nice and spicy chili presence that pleasantly lingers on the tongue after the swallow. Finishes bittersweet, with a light bitterness and some red berries and chilies lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This is a very nice Chili Amber Ale with a great balance of sweet, bitter and spicy notes, with the red berries and chilies harmonizing rather well, while the chili presence is rather distinct, but not too hot and lingers pleasantly on the tongue. While the mouthfeel seems perhaps just a bit thin, this manages a rather nice body and mouthfeel for the ABV overall.
