Axiom’s Berliner Weisse is kettle soured by the Lactobacillus naturally living in the barley husks, and fermented with raspberries. Because we like raspberries. The fruity notes accompany the acidity of this wonderful beer style, in exemplary ways.

Pours a cloudy, carminse red coloration with a large, lasting head. Smells of light doughy malt and raspberries, with a certain lactic tartness coming through as well. Taste follows the nose, with a good balance of light doughy malt, raspberries and lactic tartness. Finishes with a medium/strong tartness and some raspberry lingerin in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is your typical raspberry flavored Berliner Weiße. While the raspberries are certainly noticeable, they don't stand out particularly vibrant though, while there is a good lactic tartness to this. Personally I'm still of the opinion that a beer ceases to be a Berliner Weiße once you put fruit in it and becomes a Fruited Kettle Sour instead, but I'm not going to dwell on that. Overall, this makes for a nice, refreshing brew that seems perfect for the approaching summer temperatures.
