I'm starting to love Farmacy Brewing, and think they do imperial stouts exceptionally well. They are thick as milk and dark, easy to consume, and essentially absent of carbonation or sting (despite boasting a 14 percent ABV). Of their two imperial stouts that I've tried, Of Ancestry (brewed with acorns) is up there with my all-time favorites, yet selling for a much kinder price, while the similarly priced Cha Cha can lay claim as the best "dessert" stout I have ever had.
Brewed with chocolate, vanilla beans, and coconut, it's been compared favorably to a Mounds Bar. As one who hates the idea of a liquid Mounds Bar, and who would have avoided this stout if it was officially labelled a "dessert stout", I am happy to disagree with that description. It still thankfully tastes more like a stout than some melted Halloween treat, but it's still too sweet.
