American IPA with intense fruit flavors and aromas, a soft body, and smooth mouthfeel, with substantial haze. Less perceived bitterness than traditional IPAs but always massively hop forward.
Hops used: Willamette & Cascade. Dry hopped with Chinook. Honey added during fermentation to give a sweet front taste while chinook hops gives bitterness on the backend.
20 IBU

A big, rocky, off-white head quickly reaches three inches. The head is long lasting, eventually settling to form a pillow. The beer is burnished gold with a light haze and muddy highlights.
The nose is powerfully filled with fresh, spicy hops. Light pine needles add character in this otherwise simple profile.
The first sip had a clear bubblegum flavor that faded over the course of successive sips. Moderate bitterness is accompanied by light to no sweetness. The flavor is very grassy. Bubblegum comes back with big swigs. The long, bitter finish has light to moderate astringency.
The alcohol is far more present than labeled. I was actually shocked to read that it was only 4.5%. The body is full with a coarse, nylon texture. It is well carbonated and dry, with high astringency. The bitterness has a modest numbing effect.
While this is far from what I would expect from an NEIPA, once I accepted it on its own merits, I found it to be very enjoyable. I think it would benefit if labeled as a Hazy West Coast IPA.

Very little nose, citrus and bubble gum on the palate, but in a good way. Not sure the bubble gum was intentional here, but it was nonetheless tasty to me. Slight acidic finish that rounds out.
