Dark, dark brown in color with an aroma of cinnamon and vanilla. The description on the can promises maple but I find this flavor muted. The head on this beer is one of the better I've ever seen -- beautifully uniform, full and thick enough to carve your initials on, which then gently changes to hanging lattice down the glass. This is a pastry stout, as it announces on the label, and presents within that profile, though perhaps somewhat more laid back than other pastry stouts. Cinnamon and vanilla are there, with a sweetness touch with a brief hint of maple and chocolate. Unassuming, it is eminently drinkable and one could even have two in a row.
