Fruit Punch Sour with Kumquat, Passion Fruit, Orange and Guava

Kumquats taste like taking a grapefruit, a lemon, a lime and an orange and then throwing them in a bag with a badger that is hell bent on making a citrus salad. Badgers don't have opposable thumbs so it all just becomes a mess of citrus juices running all over everything. The badger is disappointed but the resulting combination of fruits sure does taste delicious. So we start here with our sour base before we add tons of real kumquat. After that we rest this bevie on passion fruit, guava and orange for a delectable take on what an adult fruit punch would taste like.

I had this beer in Wisconsin over 6 months ago. Despite that gap in time, I am still the first person to review this beer for this Next Glass owned subsidiary to their bigger beer site. The path less traveled they say. I wonder why.

So the appearance, its nothing to write home (or a review) about. Its all I can do, where the streets have no name. Yellow guava kumquat influenced color, 1/5" white head vanishes quickly, lacks clarity despite not being overly viscous. The aroma is nice, has all those tropical fruit smells going for it.

Taste, hey look, this is like that fun little motobike to ride, you don't look tough, but it tastes good and its fun. Nice kind of tropical fruit stripe gum influence, take me back. Throw some oranges in for good measure. The mouthfeel is pretty good, handles all that fruit without becoming acidic. Still has a beer like edge to it, albeit not too much. Carbonation seems good. I sure like the names they come up with, this brewery alone kills it for that reason. Ain't no one more surprised than me.
