German style of amber lager boasting notes of biscuit, roasted chestnuts, and sweet caramelized Demerara. Rounded by a combination of both earthy and floral noble hops. Cold conditioned for six long weeks. A perfect beer for the cooler autumn months.

Darling Brewing's "The Stillness" is a 5.6% festbier. It was sampled on draft at the brewery in early November, 2020. The beer is a handsome amber with a moderate aroma. The pour left small creamy foam. To my taste, the flavor is excellent. There is a medium malt body with a good, inviting hop character, including a nice bitterness that leaves little aftertaste. I think this is a fine traditional amber brew that stands up to many of the well-known fest beers and marzens. The brewery/tasting room is a few steps off Main Street in Patchogue on Railroad Av.
