Pours a hazy, dark orange coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells of biscuity malt and juicy tropical aromas of passion fruit, mango and pineapple, as well as a distinct dankness. Taste is a great balance of biscuity malt and quite dank, juicy tropical hops, with just a hint of zesty citrus and notes of passion fruit, mango, pineapple and grapefruit, with just a hint of pine as well. Finishes with a light bitterness and hop burn, with some passion fruit, mango and dankness lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I've said this before, but I love Strata hops and they really bring those intense passion fruit notes with a distinct dankness here, while Azzaca piles on those tropical notes even further and Citra and Mosaic provide come citrus accents and a hint of pine. This may come across as your typical sweet and juicy tropical fruit punch NEIPA at first, but develops a bit of character as you drink, with that strong dankness and light, resinous bitterness providing a certain edge here, although I would have wished for a bit more pine and bit less hop burn in the finish. Nevertheless a terrific NEIPA that somehow manages to be conventional and unconventional at the same time, with a nice mouthfeel as well.
