Pours a cloudy, almost hazy, deep golden amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head, Smells of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and citrus/tropical hops, with notes of grapefruit and passion fruit, as well as a distinct, herbal accent. Taste is an excellent balance of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and and quite herbal, slightly floral, resinous and spicy hops, with some citrus/tropical notes of grapefruit, passion fruit and papaya, as well as pine and black pepper. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some grapefruit, passion fruit and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
It's always nice to get your hands on a "normal" IPA for a change, in this case with a bit of a West Coast vibe to it, instead of the ubiquitous NEIPAs. This has got a bit more of a malty backbone, as well as an excellent balance of fruity and herbal, resinous hops, with just a hint of spice and a great bitterness in the finish. Another very enjoyable IPA from ADB that dares to be just a little different.
