Is this named after an aspect of the head brewer’s favorite sport? (Go black and gold) Or is it a dig at the king of pilsners? No, it is homage to where this style of beer originated from, Plzeň, the storied birthplace of the pilsner style, nestled in the heart of the region once known as Czechoslovakia. This pale lager delivers a crisp, clean taste with a light hop finish.

A good pilsner is hard to make. Especially a Czech-style one.

Brickhouse has some work to do. A good start though.

Had it on tap at the brewery. A bit cloudy / unfiltered hazy golden color with an orangeish hue. Smelled like a good draft lager. Nothing more, nothing less.

A clean but kinda mild taste. No hop presence to speak of at 11 IBUs. It's gotta be at least 21 IBUs for a Czech pale lager / Pilsner as they are know for their Saaz noble hop's crisp bite.

Would try it again if it is improved.
