From the bottle, it pours a clear reddish-tinged amber with a nice head. The head lasts. Lacing too. Some malt in the nose. The mouth enjoys the roasted malt that fills the mouth with flavor. Great mouthfeel. Enjoyable!

Had this at Cafe Abseits in Bamberg.
A- A clear amber-brown in color with a two finger head. Head was firm with open spacing. Head persisted for a long time and left a pretty intense lacing for at least half the beer.
S- Rich malt at first, but with a pretty interesting hoppy presence at the end. Hints of caramel and almonds. The hoppy finish is bitter, with some green notes. Definitely a unique smell for a Dunkel.
T- All the notes from the smell follow through to the taste, but are muted....a little disappointing (just because of how interesting the smell was). Presence of caramel and stewed prunes. A fairly bitter, dry finish, a little unbalanced.
M- Fairly creamy, medium bodied. Moderately carbonated with a definite carbonated bite.
D-It finished just a bit too bitter for the style. Definitely different. I'm glad I had it, would recommend trying it, but probably wouldn't order it again/very often.
