Pours an amber colored beer with a noisy and spongy head atop.
Offers aromas of hay, dried grass and lighter toffee among subtle spices and potato peel.
Has a well nuanced, softer mouthfeel, featuring the beer’s lighter body very well with a lively effervescence in the end.
Tastes of bakers chocolate, sweet toffee and slightly wooden, spicy hops, which also manage to produce an intriguing, balancing bitterness. The beer‘s mid palate is defined by milk chocolate, toffee and a drop of honey, turning the beer into a sweeter direction. Finishes very sweet with a subtle rustic undertone but no hops to speak of.
This certainly lacks in balance and therefore complexity since this turns out to be a very malt forward beer, which a Märzen certainly does not have to be.
