this is one of the better and more interesting fruited wheats ive had a in a long time, a super impressive little offering here from a way cool brewery we happened upon by chance. dry hopped strawberry wheat, neat combination of elements in this, very drinkable as none of it is overdone or forced in the least, and the quality of the ingredients is on display. i have zero doubt there are real strawberries in this thing, not because of the color, which is a slightly hazy orange and only tinted faintly pink, but because of the aroma, which brims with real homemade strawberry jam, the essence of the fruit and both sweet and tangy at the same time, only a real strawberry can come through like this, and they must have used a lot of them, its dominant in the nose, supported by some clever citrusy dry hopping, an earthy dry wheat base, and a neutral ferment that lets the fruit shine at the end. its less sweet and intensely fruity than it smells, which i dont mind, some mid palate tang is there, the wheat stays light but adds enough to keep this from drinking like juice, and there is some minor but important hop bitterness late helping it finish. i love how fresh it is, this seems organic and agricultural and just so dialed in as far as proportions go, nothing ive had quite like it. the dry hopping is smart, the soft smooth medium body just right, and the carbonation is prickly and adds a lot of life. the strawberries are the star, but this is one of the more layered and adult fruited wheat beers i can recall drinking, a total standout. perfect early in the day beer after a big night. this place is fantastic, and this strawberry wheat is not to be missed, juicy and packed with high summer energy. if all fruited wheats were this authentic, id be a massive consumer of the style. next level right here!
